Meningitis threat: Battle rages to rid Florida of African snails which carry deadly worms

Giant African Land Snails (pictured) have invaded parts of south Florida. The species - which is native to East Africa - carry thousands of 'rat lungworm' which can cause meningitis if ingested by humans.
