'Odd Brodsky' on Solid Ground with Sachtler

For director Cindy Bear’s independent feature Odd Brodsky, cinematographer Matthew Irving wanted a smooth and lyrical feel but, he concedes, “I knew we would be in run-and-gun mode most of the time, shooting in practical and many times cramped locations.”

Irving chose to shoot the project with Canon EOS 5D Mark II and 7D cameras supported by a tripod and fluid head system from Sachtler. Irving opted for the Sachtler DV 6 SB, which, he explains, “has supported me on many a challenging shoot. It provides the versatility and feel of the larger heads I’ve used, but at the same time it is lightweight enough that I was able to hike into a remote area with the camera and Sachtler slung over my shoulder.”
