Hewlett-Packard Wednesday unveiled a lightweight version of its Windows-based NAS (network-attached storage) array that's aimed at small and medium businesses.
Based on the same architecture as the HP X5000-series NAS box, the new X5000 devices for small businesses use 2.5-inch drives and can scale to 32.4TB. The older X-5000 devices use 3.5-inch hard drives and now scales to 48TB in a single unit.
