James Bond and the Queen Parachute Into the Olympics [VIDEO]
"Good evening, Mr. Bond," Her Majesty said to one of the UK's most iconic characters (played by actor Daniel Craig), before being escorted out of Buckingham Palace. The queen and 007 -- or, rather, actors portraying them -- then parachuted into London's opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.

ARM chases Intel on 3D transistors with TSMC deal
ARM is catching up with Intel on 3D transistors, announcing a new partnership with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing to manufacture 64-bit chips that are faster and more power-efficient than current chips in which transistors are organized horizontally.
The agreement calls for TSMC to implement the 3D transistors in chips based on ARM's ARMv8 64-bit architecture in the 20-nanometer manufacturing process and beyond. ARM licenses processor designs to fabless companies such as Qualcomm and Nvidia, which get the chips made by contract manufacturers like TSMC.

Dispatch from London: Publishers Look to Monetize Mobile and Refine Online Video
LONDON -- In the quest to shift more ad dollars to digital video, publishers are looking at how to better monetize the fast-growing mobile business and also how to refine the placement of video ads in premium content. Those were among the insights shared by executives from BBC Worldwide, Adobe, Ooyala and others in the Beet.TV Global Video Summit at the BBC Worldwide. "The big problem we have are formats in mobile," says Daniel Heaf, Executive VP and Managing Director of Digital at BBC Worldwide in this clip from the session. "We need to find a way to effectively monetize the fastest growing platform."Another issue publishers face is how to make the most of their inventory and many aren't maximizing their fill rates and selling as much inventory as they should, says Sean Knapp, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of online video technology company Ooyala, in explaining the challenges. But there are also opportunities to sell more effectively, and to finetune how many ads can reasonably be shown based on how many episodes a viewer has watched in a program, he explains in this video clip.Over the next few years, the amount of professional video on the Web will grow tremendously compared to the amount of user-generated content and that should open up more opportunities for brand marketers, says Jeremy Helfand, VP of Video Monetization at Adobe. For more insight on online video standards, revenue and CPMs, check out this video from the Beet.TV Global Video Summit at the BBC Worldwide.

?Advanced Pimpin? on Facebook Derails Woman?s Legal Case
The lesson here, as always: Be careful what you put on Facebook.
A San Francisco woman's legal claim was derailed by Facebook bio information in which she proclaimed her prowess as a "pimptress," according to a San Francisco Public Defender's Office press release.
The woman's profile apparently indicated that she double-majored in "Advanced Pimpin," and "keepin hoes in LINE!!!" Her profile also said she worked as a self-employed "head pimptress in charge."
The unnamed woman had accused 23-year-old Anthony Dorton of beating her up in a parking lot in the city's startup-heavy SOMA neighborhood. But a jury acquitted Dorton of felony assault and other charges after a public defender…

A TV aerial is an antenna device which is used to receive a signal, which it translates into a picture on your television. Or that?s certainly the theory, anyway, but some aerials are better than others. Get the television aerials you need with May's Aerials.
'Odd Brodsky' on Solid Ground with Sachtler
For director Cindy Bear’s independent feature Odd Brodsky, cinematographer Matthew Irving wanted a smooth and lyrical feel but, he concedes, “I knew we would be in run-and-gun mode most of the time, shooting in practical and many times cramped locations.”
Irving chose to shoot the project with Canon EOS 5D Mark II and 7D cameras supported by a tripod and fluid head system from Sachtler. Irving opted for the Sachtler DV 6 SB, which, he explains, “has supported me on many a challenging shoot. It provides the versatility and feel of the larger heads I’ve used, but at the same time it is lightweight enough that I was able to hike into a remote area with the camera and Sachtler slung over my shoulder.”
