Randy Blythe Arrested For Manslaughter, Report Claims
Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe was detained in Prague this week. He could face 5-10 years in prison for an altercation at a 2010 show that allegedly left a fan dead.
Reports indicate the incident leading to the arrest of Blythe (full name D. Randall "Randy" Blythe) involved a man repeatedly rushing the stage from the crowd.
He was ejected from the stage and later died of head injuries, according to WTVR, the CBS News affiliate in Lamb of God's hometown of Richmond, Virginia.
Lamb of God canceled a show at the Rock Cafe in Prague Thursday after the singer was brought in for questioning; reports differ as to what happened next.
Some sources say Blythe was arrested and charged with "the crime of bodily harm of 4th degree and resulting in the death of a fan." The band's rep denies this.
Randy's brother, Mark Blythe, told WTVR that if manslaughter charge is actually filed, it is "bogus and outrageous and will be dropped immediately."
The band tweeted the hashtag #FreeRandyBlythe late Thursday. Blythe deleted his once extremely active personal Twitter account earlier this summer.
Maria Ferrero, the Grammy-nominated band's publicist, told MTV News that Lamb of God's management will not comment in full until Monday. However:
"As no formal charges have yet been made and the case is only in the investigation stages, it would be premature to make an official statement filled with false truths or innuendos."
"Having said that, management wished to address today one false piece of information that has been included in many of the news stories released so far."
"Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head."
"Again, until the investigation is concluded this weekend, nothing more will be released, but clarity and the facts needed to be addressed on this one reported point which is totally inaccurate."

Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and director Nora Ephron died Tuesday (June 26) from pneumonia. She was 71. News of Ephron's passing first hit the Internet late Tuesday when journalist Liz Smith, a friend of Ephron's, published a column remembering the late director.
"She never gave the answer I expected to anything. She was grave in her humor, which made it deadly, unexpected, truly funny and dauntingly intelligent," wrote Smith. "She seemed never to want or expect anything, while always demanding the best from the rest of us. She was — always — right and somehow left the smartest, most ambitious and silliest of us in the dust at her feet."
Ephron lived a storied life both on set and behind the scenes. Born in New York City in 1941 and raised in Beverly Hills, California, Ephron worked as a journalist for numerous years before trying her hand writing and directing for film. Her writing appeared in such outlets as Esquire and New York, and she was even married to Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame from 1976 until 1980. She later wed screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi in 1987; they remained married until the time of her death.
In 1983, Ephron's first major Hollywood movie, "Silkwood," arrived in theaters. Starring marquee names including Meryl Streep, Kurt Russell and Cher, Ephron's "Silkwood" was based on the true story of Karen Silkwood, who was killed in a suspicious accident during her investigation into the unethical practices of the nuclear power plant that employed her. The film was nominated for five Oscars, including one for Ephron's screenplay.
Over the course of her career, Ephron cemented her place in Hollywood as one of the industry's finest romantic comedy writers. She wrote the iconic "When Harry Met Sally ... " and directed numerous films, including the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan-starring "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail." Her final film as writer and director was "Julie & Julia."
"I won't say, 'Rest in peace, Nora,' " Smith wrote in her eulogy of Ephron. "I will just ask, 'What the hell will we do without you?' "

More money, more problems; that's the only conclusion that Meek Mill can come to when pondering why he has been the subject of so many rumors lately.
After news broke of the June 14 New York City brawl between Drake's and Chris Brown's entourages, Meek's name swirled in reports. From the start, the Maybach Music MC insisted that he had nothing to do with the incident that left a number of people injured. When he appeared on "RapFix Live" on Wednesday (June 27), Meek continued to steer clear of the controversy.
"I don't really be having those controversies like that, man. It's just that the more hotter you get, they start talkin'," Mill said.
Meek seemed to be taken aback by the amount of negative press he's been receiving. In the weeks leading up to the infamous melee, many blog sites reported that Chris Brown, Drake and the Philadelphia MC were sending subliminal tweets to one another in a beef over Brown's ex-girlfriend Rihanna. When all three ended up in the same club on June 14, a brawl definitely broke out, but the cause still remains unknown. It is widely speculated that the fight began over Rihanna, whom Drake and Meek had both been romantically linked to. The brawl has made headlines all over the world and the "I'ma Boss" spitter has noticed his name being dropped in media outlets that normally wouldn't cover him.
"People fight in the club every week, I just be there. The name's gettin' a little bigger, I guess they startin' to mention me now," he said, distancing himself from any of the drama. "I've never been mentioned on none of those blogs or none of those shows or whatever, but things must be goin' well over there."
As far as his rumored Twitter beef with Brown, Meek warns fans not to believe everything they read. "Twitter don't count in real life, I tweet anything," he said. "I try not disrespect nobody on Twitter, no artists or anybody, period."
In an interview with XXL, Meek said that he didn't see Chris or Drake throw a bottle, but he did tell "RapFix Live" that he reached out to both of the stars following the fracas. "I hollered at Chris Brown immediately, I talked to Drake immediately," he said. "I don't be on no negative vibes, man. ... We blessed, we get money, we rich and leave it at that."
